Disclaimer
TempusLex is a support tool for computing Italian procedural deadlines — civil, labour, administrative, and tax procedure. It is not legal advice and does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Using TempusLex does not replace direct verification by the lawyer who knows the case file, the competent jurisdiction, and the specifics of the proceeding. Draft page pending final legal review before public launch.
What we do
We apply a deterministic, rules-based interpretation of Italian procedural law (Civil Procedure Code, Administrative Procedure Code, Legislative Decree 546/1992, Law 742/1969 on the August ferial suspension as amended by Law 162/2014, Law 260/1949 on national holidays). For each computation we produce:
- A deadline date computed by calendar-day arithmetic, applying the ferial suspension (1–31 August) and the carry-forward to the next non-holiday.
- A trace with the statutes applied, the suspended days, and any deferrals.
- A PDF reminder and an iCalendar (.ics) export for the case file.
What we do not do
- We do not opine on the admissibility or the merits of the procedural act.
- We do not verify the correct identification of the dies a quo (date of service, of knowledge, of publication): the lawyer is responsible for entering the exact date.
- We do not replace consultation of the code, current case law, or the assigned counsel.
- We do not represent you before any judicial or administrative authority.
Limitations
The rules applied reflect Italian procedural law at the time of the last update (post-Cartabia reform — Legislative Decree 149/2022 and subsequent corrections; post-Law 162/2014 on the ferial suspension). Subsequent statutory changes may not yet be reflected: updates are published on the <a href="/en/blog">blog</a> and sent by email to Pro and Studio subscribers.
The holiday calendar includes Italian national holidays (Law 260/1949 and successors). The local patron-saint holiday is not included: if the competent court observes a patronal feast day, the lawyer must verify any carry-forward manually. Some procedural acts follow special regimes (e.g. interim relief deadlines, urgency under art. 700 c.p.c., accelerated rites) for which automatic computation may not apply in full: when in doubt, the statutory text and professional judgement prevail.
Your responsibilities
- Verify the dies a quo, the jurisdiction, and the procedural rite applicable to the specific proceeding.
- Cross-check the computed deadline against the statutory text and current case law before taking action with legal effect.
- Update deadlines whenever the procedural status changes (suspension, interruption, reinstatement).
- Keep an independent record of critical deadlines in your firm's case-management system.
No warranties
TempusLex is provided on an "as is" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of use of the service, of incorrect data entry, or of reliance on its outputs. Professional responsibility for the correct handling of procedural deadlines remains with the assigned lawyer.
Reminder PDF footer
Every PDF reminder generated by TempusLex carries a footer reminding the reader that the document is a computation trace supporting the case file, not legal advice. Do not remove that footer when archiving or sharing the document.
